My Students

Currently, I am teaching 21st century learners using 20th century methods.

My students do NOT have access to computers at home and cannot get to the public library.

They LOVE using the 2 computers we have in our classroom and using the computer lab every once in a while, but we have 16 classrooms (400 students) trying to access 25 computers in the lab each day. They rarely get the chance to use this technology!!

My Project

I'm requesting 30 chrome books for my classroom. As an ELA teacher, we are constantly writing. I am always running out of paper and supplies for writing, so the costs keep adding up throughout the year. I also think about what skills my students need for college, and being able to use a computer proficiently is extremely important in today's world. They need to be able to research information and then synthesize that information into writing. They also need to be able to write creatively. In addition, there are many websites available that will give my students access to books and test prep to help them succeed in the 3rd grade and beyond.

My scholars really need access to this technology so that they can type their stories, research important topics, and have access to websites that can help them improve their reading, writing, and math skills.
