My Students

My students create video projects for the Adobe Youth Voices program. There has always been an interest in music but not enough resources to make it happen. Plus, whenever we do sound editing in the computer lab, fifteen sets of speakers going off don't make for a creative environment!

My students have all made a commitment to getting back on track with their education after running into trouble.

Our school is a second-chance for kids who often feel like no one believes in them. We help them feel supported in their search for identity and their desire to succeed. We have one of the highest graduation rates for programs of our type in the area and expect the best from our students.

My Project

Our video projects are limited by our lack of microphone equipment and our sound editing capabilities are constrained by close workstations. The mic and boom would allow much improved audio capture and a more professional feel to the shooting/recording process. The headphones would allow the students to work simultaneously on sound and video software without disturbing or distracting each other. The overall effect on my students' work would be astounding.

Music inspires youth like few other forms of media can.

And when they feel a desire to express themselves through sound, it is an opportunity that can not be ignored. Help give my students some of the tools they need to make their work both a sight to see and music to our ears!
