My Students

"What homework?" is just one excuse I hear from my students who forget to turn in their work. Instilling RESPONSIBILITY and teaching organizational skills is a key component for making my students successful lifelong learners.

My second grade students are fun loving children who come to school eager to learn.

At the beginning of the year they quickly take pride in their fun, colorful, and organized classroom. My students appreciate how I keep the classroom very organized, with procedures and schedules posted. I value organization and I set high expectations for my students to stay organized and focused. My students are productive, active members, who value their work and supplies.

My Project

I need YOUR HELP to provide a storage area that would act as individualized mailboxes. The mailboxes would be used daily for school-home communication. Students would store their classwork, notes, homework, planner, books, and any other supplies they need to take back and forth from home to school. The mailbox organizer would be placed near the front door, and the top of the organizer would be used as a welcome table, which would hold our sign-in book, volunteer log, and hall pass bin.

Having this mailbox organizer will instill order and organization to our morning and afternoon routines.

My students will have more pride in their work if they have a place to keep it safe and organized to take home. Having mailboxes will also eliminate wasting valuable class time passing out notes, flyers, and homework, as I will be able place them in the boxes before they arrive.
