The Case Of The Messy Art Room

My students need drying racks and stacking shelves for easier access to the materials we need and safe storage for precious artworks.

My Students

Save our artworks before they fall on the floor, get stepped on, or accidentally fall in the sink! Our drying rack was meant for large artwork and does not hold ours! The poster storage bin takes up half of our classroom so we have little room to move!

My students come from low socioeconomic homes, over half of my students receive free/reduced meals.

Some students witness gang violence everyday at home. School is a safe place for these students to express themselves and get the love and support they deserve. My students love school and do not want to leave us when summer break comes around. These are great kids with great futures if we are able to remain involved in their learning.

My Project

My students will be able to put their wet artworks on a drying rack that does not have huge holes for their papers to fall through onto someones artwork. My students will be able to easily reach the drying rack and preserve their work. With a new poster storage unit my students will be able to move around the art room without tripping over long giant bin. With a new more streamlined storage unit we will be able to have a space to create green screen videos with our cameras or a place hang our artwork while we talk about our ideas with each other.

My students will have access to an art environment that is easier to navigate and creates more opportunities to learn different things in our tight space.

My students are brilliant thinkers with uncertain futures ahead of them.
