My Students

What could be more peaceful than sitting by a pond to read a good book? I want to create a comfortable and cozy reading environment for my students, that will further entice my children to read.

I teach second grade to a wonderful group of children.

They love to learn and expand their horizons through their books. They enjoy their daily reading time; however, I feel that it could be further enhanced with a comfortable and cozy spot for children to go to enjoy their reading time.

My Project

This rug may just appear to be a pond habitat, but to my children it will serve as a fun and exciting place to experience new books. At this age, children's love of literacy must be fostered. Providing a positive and inviting environment that encourages reading will continue to help their love of literacy to grow.

I love to read.

It is important to me that I pass this along to my children. I think this comes from understanding where I enjoy to read. Do I like to sit at my desk to read? Not really. Some of my favorite places are on a comfortable couch or on the beach. This hasn't changed much since I was in elementary school when my teachers had special places for us to read. i want to give this same love and comfort associated with reading to my children. Thank you for your support!
