Hello! I teach second grade students at a Title I (high poverty) elementary campus in a low socio-economic area. Very few of my students have access to any technology at home.

My students love to write. Often times, they want to type their stories on the computer and print them. Currently we have one inkjet printer. While this will do the job, we are only allowed one cartridge per school year. Also we display our typed writing stories in the hall. With inkjet printers, the output smears every time another student bumps into our printed stories. Imagine how many students we have and how many times we write, and it becomes clear that an inkjet is not cut out for this job.

We need a laser printer and toner cartridge. With these materials we will print much more than with a simple inkjet cartridge. It is a heartbreaking situation each year when we run out of ink and my students can no longer see their work in print.
