The Magic of Math in Pre-K

My project needs are a variety of math manipulatives which will strengthen my students color, shape, and number knowledge and reinforce their fine motor skills.

I am a Pre-K teacher and I absolutely love what I do! Each year I try to instill in my students a love for learning. Providing my students with a chance to experience learning at their own pace and watching them grow and become successful learners is a rewarding experience and truly the best part of my job! My classroom and my 18 students are in need of a variety of math manipulatives to help them accomplish this. I am requesting a patterning chart board, a counting set, a set of charts which introduce and review colors, shapes and numbers, a set of clipboards for survey questioning, large magnetic numbers, tracing numerals, and a storage bin to contain these materials in a designated area of our room. In addition, I am also asking for a set of math games which the students can complete independently. This set is designed for the child to work on their number knowledge, shapes, patterns and graphing skills. All of the materials requested address essential components of our Pre-K program. These materials will allow us to set up an amazingly Magical Math Center where the students can work on their skills. Furthermore, while each of the activities will address an important skill my students must master, they will also be able to complete it at their own pace. But, it will be watching my students become successful and confident in math that will truly be the MAGIC!
