The majority of my students have never been to a bookstore. Due to the lower socio-economic status of my class, their parents do not have the money to purchase new books for their children, and/or their parents are not concerned about making sure books are a vital part of their children's lives. I dream of taking my class on a field trip to Barnes & Noble, showing my class how much fun it is to browse the book section and purchase a brand new book. I would love if a generous donor would pay for our field trip by funding the transportation and a book purchase for each student. We would take this trip right before Christmas as a special treat. Some of the children do not have a "Santa Claus" to bring them special surprises. Thank you so much for helping these children learn to love, value, and respect books.
