My Students

Students today need new and engaging resources to encourage learning. An iPad would be the perfect resource to meet my students needs.

I have the pleasure of working with 7 students in Illinois.

They are 7-10 year olds with severe behavior disorders, autism, or mild cognitive impairments. Many have had extremely challenging childhoods, and all have substantial barriers to cross when it comes to their academics. However they come in every day with a thirst for learning as I do everything I can to meet their specific needs.

My Project

The iPad is being used in classrooms all over the country to improve student learning. It is a great way to bring visual and audio support to the lessons being taught. Many of my students have extreme difficulty communicating their needs. The iPad has programs that will give my students a voice, and aid in ending their frustration at others' not understanding their ways of communication.

The iPad has proven success in the classroom.

It will broaden my students learning activities across subject areas. It will allow me to give them another tool to jump over the hurdles they face every day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
