My Students

Exposure to a large selection of reading materials can help us to improve our reading skills!

My program is funded based on the number of students in the school receiving free and reduced lunch.

As a reading specialist, I work with students in Grades 4-6 who struggle with reading. Many of my students do not like to read because it is difficult for them.

My Project

The NOOK Digital Readers offer an enormous selection of books, magazines, and newspapers and will make reading exciting for my students! They will be able to search for materials based on their interests. In the classroom, we will be able to use the digital readers to discuss various types of literature to improve their comprehension skills. The students can also search for books that they may find interesting and would like to read at home.

Most of my students do not enjoy reading because they struggle with it.

I would like to use the NOOK Digital Readers to expose them to a large variety of books, magazines, and newspapers in an effort to inspire them to become lifelong readers!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
