My Students

Do you remember what it was like when teachers would assign something but never go over it with the class? With a document camera, I will be able to do this and demonstrate strategies. Students will be able to share their projects with their class and become more engaged in their learning.

My 4th graders are an awesome class of 30!

They are energetic and anxious to learn. We live in a small and very low socio-economic town in rural Arizona. Many of the students have not traveled outside of our town. Their background knowledge is very limited. Over 90% of them are on the free and reduced lunch program. In spite of this, they are a hard working group. I am very proud of them.

My Project

My project is an alternative learning tool to enhance student skills and learning across the curriculum through the use of advanced technology. Education is very important and most successful with the right tools. I am requesting a document camera, as it is an important and valuable tool that will make learning more fun and meaningful. It is very helpful when trying to demonstrate reading or math strategies. I will be able to show models and share great text with the class. It is an excellent way to show students how to edit and revise written work. Students will be more engaged in the process of learning. They will be able to use the document camera when they are presenting speeches and book reports. It will also be easier for them when they are sharing strategies that they themselves are using. Students will be able to enjoy the benefits of the document camera for years to come.

Students need to be engaged in their learning.

By having a document camera in the classroom, students will be more involved with the process of their learning. Thank you for considering my project. Most of all, thank you for supporting education.
