My students need 12 keyboards, stands, headphones and batteries so we can implement a piano/keyboard curriculum into our already thriving music program!
Do you remember what is was like the first time the "music bug" bit you? It's happening everyday at our little South Philly school!
Our students are inner city kids ranging from K-8th grade.
We have a culturally diverse student body, who have fully embraced the music program that Donors Choose has helped me build in the past four years. The music students are constantly asking to come in for extra time on their instruments. Their enthusiasm and commitment to their craft is a constant inspiration to myself and fellow students.
My Project
The implementation of the guitar, recorder and percussion curriculum has made a significant impact on all of our children. We have a few keyboards in our music room and students are asking me if I can begin to teach them how to play the piano/keyboards as part of our daily curriculum.
I believe that a keyboard curriculum can have an enormous impact on all of our students.
So many of our students have completely embraced all other areas of our music curriculum culminating in two wonderful "Rock Bands". I strive to give our students every opportunity possible and firmly believe that these keyboards can make a significant impact on our kids.
