My Students

DO you remember sitting and listening to a teacher just talk, talk, and talk, until you were asleep. I do not want my students to have this experience. I want to provide fun hands on lessons for them and with your help this is possible.

My students attend a Title One school and most of them receive free and reduced lunch.

I have 68 students in four classes. They are all bright students eager to learn in their own special way. It is my hope to open doors through hands on learning, so they can retain math concepts for life.

My Project

In every job, things change. Teaching is no different. Today's students are no longer paper trained as I was. They are more interested in technology and video games. In order to prepare them, I try and provide as many hands on lessons as I can. Math is so important in life, not just in school. The skills they learn or miss will follow them the rest of their lives. I plan on providing daily hands on lessons in the classroom with the books and flip chat I am requesting. I also want to give students fun homework by providing the kits to reinforce the skills I am teaching and encourage family time. Hands on learning is where I want my classroom focus to be. Please help me in achieving this goal.

Classrooms across the county are changing.

They way we approach subject matter is evolving to include more problem solving and real world applications. The standards in Alabama are changing and these materials will not only help me to keep up, but also give my students fun and exciting lessons. Please help us to keep up and be successful in the real world.
