Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember when your teacher read a great story and asked him/her to read it again and again? Well, my students love to listen to them and ask me to read it again and again. In order for my students to listen to their favorite stories over and over, they need a listening center and read-along books.

My students are enthusiastic learners.

They love to learn and are hard workers. They come from low-income families. My students are in a Title 1 school and eligible for a free meal. At our school, we have a limited budget to purchase materials. Because my students are English language leaners, they need a lot of exposure of the English language. These materials will help increase their vocabulary in English.

My Project

The little sight-word readers books will help my students learn their sight words. The reading text is made-up at least half of the sight words. My students need to practice learning their sight words by reading these colorful and inviting sight-word readers text. They can practice during our independent work time. Also we need a book display stand so my students have an easy access to them and keep our classroom library organized. We need a cd player, a wireless headphones, individual cd players, and reading books. Because my students love being read to, they can listen to their favorite stories over and over in a cd player. The wireless headphones will be used in a listening center with a cd player. My students will have easy access putting them on and not waste precious time untangling the wires. It will also keep our listening center organized since I have limited space in my classroom. The read-along books are filled with rich vocabulary and illustrations.
