This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

You might have known some one at any point in your life who was either a bully or was bullied. Perhaps it was you who was bullied once, or you might have been a bully before. What did it take to stop that? Ah! I have the answer...

My students are a multi-cultural group with limited access to technology and learning experiences outside the school.

This school year we have over 1700 students divided into Small Learning Communities. The student body will be increasing by about 400 in less than 6 months. The school is a Title 1 school and over 70% of them get free or reduced meals, as many live in large families with limited incomes. Most of my students go home and don't have a parent that could help them with homework.

My Project

ABC Family anti-bullying lessons will be incorporated into my curriculum to boost students morale, self esteem and create a bully free zone in which students can concentrate and learn. The external memory drive my students can receive through the ABC Family Funds will be a motivator for them to do their researches, videos, recorded interviews, documentaries, and presentations in depth. Students find pride on their products when they know they will be stored and shared and their ideas and messages can be passed along to others.

Students will be motivated upon learning that the Bully Free Zone project they develop is valued and appreciated and saved in a memory.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
