My Students

Help us prepare for the jobs of tomorrow that do not even exist yet by increasing our exposure and experience with the phenomenal 21st Century skills available on Promethean boards!

Our school is a high poverty public school that has been authorized as an International Baccalaureate primary year's program elementary school.

Our school, students, families, and community support efforts in promoting 21st Century skills as a tool to develop self, create goals, embed community building, and include all communication skills. My students are much attuned to their own individual goals and are easily engaged in working with varying forms of learning tools. Research shows that children who play an active role in their own education create a foundation of responsibility and investment in their own future. It is apparent that each year our kindergarten community thrives with the opportunity to play an active role in their learning. They find joy in the success of gaining tech skills and sharing applications with others!

My Project

Imagine students' technological experience at the highest level of active engagement. I work with 74 kindergarten students focusing on academic skills and units of inquiry that expose students to international ideas. The use of Promethean boards in co-teaching classrooms would create endless experiential capabilities connecting their unit of inquiry study to real world research through technology. These boards will also support their natural curiosity in seeking to understand our classroom concepts in an active dynamic through technology. Learning would be impacted by bridging concepts to hands-on learning through the lens of technology. All students, no matter the learning capability could invest in their own educational future by learning through the Promethean board platform. Student independent learning could occur through self-guided applications along with whole group lessons. Essentially students could start the journey of becoming authentic global citizens!

Your support of this project will enable our kindergarten community to bridge abstract learning concepts and concrete experiences through technological applications.

Along with technological applications, these Promethean boards will provide a window into the world supporting the documentation of projects, visual graphics application with software, experience with technology, practicing academic skills, and supporting student-led inquiry. Your support will break down the barriers of tomorrow!
