Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom enjoys a new projector and document camera through the generosity of Donor's Choose, but the laptop issued to us by our school is too outdated to function with the sites we need to use. We need a new laptop with updated processing in order to work with the programs and sites we use.

My kindergarten students are from a very poor urban neighborhood in New York, and are sadly in an overcrowded room.

They love technology, and respond very well to multi-sensory activity and interactive learning. The public school is about 50 years old, and has undergone some renovation, but we really benefit from the use of the computer to increase their knowledge and exposure to the world.

My Project

This HP laptop with the 15.6" screen will not only provide the processing speed we need, but also a large screen for kids to use in order to supplement the desktops we have. The old Mac computers in our room are at the end of their life, and don't read all the scripts and sites we have in our curriculum, and with this new laptop they will be able to experience everything with ease. The speakers will replace the damaged ones we currently have, and the backpack will enable us to take care of everything and store it safely.

Our students are definitely benefiting from the access to technology we currently enjoy, and the only weak spot is our computer.

With this new HP computer we will be able to quickly move through the curriculum and be able to blend the experiences in our learning with ease.
