Projecting Into the 21st Century Classroom

My Students

Wouldn't it be wonderful to learn with the latest technology? Our computer lab and mobile lab need updating. We need new projectors that are easily compatible with laptops in our mobile lab, as well as a number of other devices like tablets, smartphones, digital cameras, etc.

My students come from challenging economic backgrounds and come from homes where English is a second language.

Additionally, my students are faced with a district in experiencing a "crisis mode" budget. Students are predominately from low socio-economic backgrounds. Over 77% of our school is identified as Title I and most all of our students qualify for the free or reduced price lunch program under the federal guidelines. Most of my students come from "at-risk" backgrounds where the family environment is not as ideal as most other high achieving schools.

My Project

We need new projectors that are more compatible. This will allow the ease of instructional presentations on-the-go for our mobile lab as well as in the computer lab. These portable projectors will expand the horizons of my students by being able to creatively enhance their English oral presentation skills, language arts, and technological skills with the convenience of these projectors to connect to just about any device. Imagine how much fun this would be. No longer would teacher and students be restricted by mounted low quality projectors. Freedom to present and project on-the-go would be refreshing and liberating in a yet to be explored way.

In a computer lab, it is important that we are teaching students with the latest technology that actually improves instruction.

My current projector is not functioning well and is difficult to view. Our mobile lab unit has no projector to accompany it. Your support would make technological instruction mobile, innovative, and exciting in more ways than one.
