Searching For Fun At The Zoo And Beyond

My students need backpacks, stickers, clipboards and pencils to go on a scavenger hunt at the zoo.

My Students

We are going to the zoo! Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, my class is able to visit the zoo this spring. We are going on a scavenger hunt for the animals we learned about and could use these supplies to do so!

I teach 20 energetic and eager to learn kindergarten children in a high-poverty school district.

Approximately 80% of my students receive free or reduced lunches. My students come to school everyday excited about learning and can't wait to find out what the day holds for them. They are thrilled to be learning to read! The students in my class learn best through hands-on activities. They love playing with their friends and are very social. Many of them face challenges outside of school, and I want to do all I can to give them engaging learning experiences while they are at school.

My Project

I cannot wait to visit the zoo with my students and their families this spring! We spend the last three weeks of our reading series learning about different wild animals. As a culminating experience, my students and their families will meet me at the zoo the weekend before school is out. To make the zoo relate to our learning at school, students and families will go on a scavenger hunt to find some of the animals we learned about around the zoo. Backpacks will be used to house supplies such as their clipboard to hold the scavenger hunt paper, pencils to complete the scavenger hunt and stickers to use during their hunt. Students will also receive snacks in their backpacks.

Your donation to this project will provide materials to make my students' trip to the zoo more connected to our learning in the classroom.

It will also give them the opportunity to engage in a fun activity while exploring the zoo. Thank-you for your support of our classroom and our trip to the zoo!
