An Area for Learning

My Students

Help my students have a wonderful area to sit while they learn.

My students are my life.

I love each and every one of them. All of my students are EL students. An EL student is an English learner. My classroom has students that come from a home where English is not spoken. I also have students that just came to our country. They are in the process of learning our language and culture. Our school is located in the heart of our city. The school's resources are tight and they are unable to buy extra materials for our classroom like this rug.

My Project

The area rug would provide a specific place for the students to sit. Without the rug the students do not have a place marked off where to sit during these times. This would help the students that need gentle reminders of where they need to go. It would also provide a fun and enjoyable place to sit than just the class carpet! The rug will create a classroom community meeting place and also represent all of the cultures in our classroom!
