Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of 25 second grade students.

They are inquisitive individuals who are eager to learn regardless of the challenges they face. Approximately half of my students are Second Language Learners and some come from low socioeconomic households. 79% of our school qualifies for reduced or free lunch. The school computer lab is equipped with eleven computers, but, they are old and outdated. It is difficult for my class to utilize the lab with 25 students and eleven computers.

My Project

An HP Pro Book in the classroom will allow the students to enrich their learning in a fun and engaging manner. They will be able to conduct classroom research on topics such as heroes, fossils, and the Solar System. They will also be able to use the HP Pro Book for educational activities to reinforce concepts, as well as, to provide challenging tasks for high achieving or gifted students.

A majority of my students do not have access to technology so without exposure to technology in school, they will be very sheltered.

They need opportunities to use computers so they can learn the skills to compete in today's "tech savvy" world. Your donation will help provide an HP Pro Book for our class. It will allow my students to use technology as a tool to expand their knowledge and develop the necessary skills to be successful in life.
