My Students

Some students nowadays dread going to science class. I don't have any of those students. They cannot wait to get to science every day, but we don't have the best materials to become the great scientists that they all can be.

My students live in the bayous of Louisiana.

They are at school everyday extremely excited to learn whatever we can teach them. They are the kind of students who jump out of their seats because they are so excited to learn about photosynthesis. Unfortunately they have not seen first hand the amazing world of science, they have only seen it in a few old textbooks. My students would be in utter disbelief to see the actual life cycles of the animals they have read about.

My Project

A picture in a book is great, but imagine giving my students the actual animals and letting them see the life cycle as it is really happening. They will be able to make concise observations everyday about how their frogs and mealworms are growing and changing. They will be able to relate this to time and gain a better understanding of how all these things interact.

These students DESERVE the best materials but they rarely ever get them.

I see it as a crime that they have the energy and the ambition, but the simple lack of materials is holding them back. Please help break this cycle and make my students into great scientists.
