My Students

Test taking can be a great cause for anxiety and discomfort. What better way to ease those anxious and nervous feelings of taking a standardized test than by having a snack while you test. We want to provide a relaxing testing environment that enhances the students ability to do well on a test.

My students are 8th graders taking 4 different standardized tests in reading, math, science and social studies.

They have 4 different days of testing that is mandated by the state. They have shown to do better at taking tests when they can snack on something. Many of these kids come from middle class families that are struggling to make ends meet in this economy. Donations to STARR snacks will help ease the burden of asking parents yet again for another donation.

My Project

These snacks will be utilized during a week long series of standardized tests. 8th grade students will have to take up to four tests in one week. Having these snacks will help the students stay focused and at ease. They will serve as a break during the test or as a reward for when they complete the test. It will show the students that we want them to do well and we are willing to provide just a little something to get them through.

Your donation will help our kids perform well on these state standardized tests.

A weeks worth of long tests can be overwhelming. We want them to do well so that they can realize their full potential and learn good test taking strategies, like having a little snack can actually improve your stress level and hopefully improve their test scores.
