Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Make the world of the rainforest come to life with today's innovations. We have curious minds and want to learn more about various habitats. The challenge we face is the only laptop in our room is very old and we can not access websites nor view videos.

My classroom is made up of at least 75% English Leaners eager to learn.

They are very loving and understand our hard economic times, limit us from getting certain things for our classroom. Many of my students parents have lost their jobs,homes, and even their form of transportation. I admire every one of them because they still love coming to school. I feel helpless sometimes, but everything changes as soon as see their sparkling eyes and a big smile. I keep them involved by bringing into my class, outside and personal materials. My message is to keep my students imagination growing by exposing them to various habitats via search engines, websites, etc..

My Project

The laptop will provide virtual graphics and videos that will support classroom lessons. My students will be able to complete reports or projects with rich information. We do attend computer lab weekly, but most of the computers are out of service or outdated. I want to do everything possible for my students to be successful. Wouldn't it be great if I can expand their knowledge by going beyond the classroom's four wall.

A laptop to use with lessons will provide extra knowledge to my students who are economically disadvantaged.

I can't take them to the reinforce habitat but I would like to bring it to them.
