My Students

Have you ever read a brilliant mystery novel that you couldn't put down? My students will not get the chance to be enthralled by Agatha Christie without your help.

My freshmen students in NC are in desperate need of books.

Our school is one of the oldest high schools in our county, and the students would be thrilled to finally see some NEW novels. Most of them hate reading (because they haven't been exposed to great books), and in order to prove to them that reading can be exciting and gripping, I want to introduce them to the mysterious world of Agatha Christie.

My Project

Obtaining these texts of And Then There Were None could truly motivate my students to read again. The gripping mystery could make them realize that classics are not all "boring." This novel has even been made into a computer game and a video game, which should encourage the students to go more in depth with the story.

Throughout this novel, the students should not only gain a love for reading, they should also learn how to analyze literary terms like foreshadowing, omen, characterization, tone, mood, and theme.

This analysis will help prepare them for future testing and teach them how to analyze real-life situations.
