Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my class, our BIG goal is to get ready for 3rd grade and college. With this in mind, there is no time to waste in investing and engaging my students in the areas they need to grow the most.

My students attend a low income school where 97% of them receive free and reduced price lunch.

Their families often struggle to make ends meat and for some of my students this means there is not enough money for books or school supplies. My students are bright, curious, funny, kind and persistent. They flourish in the classroom!

My Project

What my students really need is a visual representation of their goals - I want them to SEE the growth they're making and take ownership of that growth with their individual goal folders. In these folders students will track their mastery of 2nd grade objectives on their own and will be able to refer to their goals daily. To meet these goals, interactive SMART Board software and intervention language flashcards are being requested. These supplies will help me work with students in the specific areas where they are struggling. Finally, team bins will help me stay organized and increase classroom efficiency. Every moment counts!!
