My Students

Butterfly, Butterfly, What Do You See? Children are visual learners. What is more fun to learn about butterflies, ladybugs, and plant's life cycle than seeing and learning it in real life?

We are students from two wonderful classes of First Grade Chinese-Mandarin Dual Language Program in California's public school.

This is their second year learning Mandarin-Chinese at school in different discipline/subject areas such as Math, Science, Social Science, Physical Education, and etc.

My Project

What do you still remember from your elementary school years? Most of the things we still remember are things that we learn from thematic units, projects, or hands on activities. With these life cycle sets, we will be able to learn about butterflies, ladybugs, and plants by seeing them in actions.

With these science kits, the lovely children from my class will be able to learn about the life cycles of butterflies, lady bugs, and plants in both English and Chinese.

They will be able to internalize what they have learned and share with others in two different languages. This will also awaken the little scientist in them and hopefully they will find their passion in science.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
