My students need an easel that can move around the room as they are constantly on the move themselves. They also need bins.

My Students

My fourth/fifth grade multi-age classroom is the only one of its kind in my school. We are constantly moving around and working in small groups. An easel that can move with us will benefit their learning either with me teaching or as they are working independently.

I have 12 fourth graders and 12 fifth graders.

They are the most flexible students in the world that are constantly being shuffled around. The school they attend is a typical suburban school in Colorado. My students are active, kind, compassionate, and have great senses of humor. We are NEVER bored in the multi-age classroom!

My Project

In my classroom, the students are constantly moving. I work with differentiated groups for reading, writing, and spelling. I also teach 2 different math lessons daily. We are always looking for places to break into groups. The easel that moves with my groups will benefit my students learning. Since it has a white board with it, I will be able to teach my small groups any where around the room. I will also allow my students to work on it during independent time when they can practice spelling, multiplication facts, and other language arts skills.

Since the state of education and funding has been a challenge for many schools, a multi-age classroom is a way to keep class sizes down.

I have been teaching for 10 years and the multi-age is definitely a new challenge. This easel will help ease the challenge of trying to constantly teach different curriculum and making sure that each of my students is getting the education they deserve while being in any location of my classroom.
