My Students

Help protect our green thumbs while we protect the environment! My students have adopted spots at a state park and within our school grounds that need a lot of TLC. We need the tools to complete the job!

We have a collaborative class of 31 fifth graders.

Some of our students have disabilities, some do not. We have a community of active, hands-on learners who love to explore and work with their hands. I have to say we have an incredible group of students who give their best at everything they do!

My Project

Our school grounds have an area that is barren with little to no plant life. It would be a wonderful area to turn into a school garden and outdoor classroom. We have created plans for the space to make it better by adding plants that are native to Virginia. In addition, we have adopted a spot at a state park that needs some help. We will be weeding, planting, and maintaining this spot while serving our state! In order to complete this project, we need tools to help us protect our hands and eyes.

My students will be able to directly see the results of their efforts while serving their school and state community.

They will learn that one person can make a huge difference in the quality of life of others!
