Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with a diverse group of students. Some of my students work at a quicker pace while others need more time to complete their classwork. These Versatile Math Kits will allow my students to work at their own pace during math centers.

I work with kindergarten through second grade students.

I work with students with autism, visual impairments, specific learning disabilities, speech/language impairments, and students who may benefit from small group interventions. About 90% of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunch and close to 60% of our students are English Language Learners.

My Project

These Versa Tiles Math Labs will be used during centers. Versa Tiles Math Lab includes 12 tiles in a case that the students use to answer questions. Once students complete the one page activity they are able to flip the case over to check their answers. The engaging, skill-specific activities can be arranged to provide individualized reinforcement or enrichment for a small group or an individual student. The math lab includes 40 colorful nonconsumable student activity books. The books provide practice and reinforcement with standards based level activities. It also includes a comprehensive teacher's resource guide, which includes assessment options, student monitoring, blackline masters, benchmark activities, and eight reproducible formal tests with answer keys and correlations to the student activity books. The math strands include number concepts, estimation, computation, patterns, functions, algebra, geometry, measurement, data, and probability.

Versa Tiles Math Labs are fun and educational math programs. These materials will provide many opportunities for our students to learn math. They will be able to practice and review math concepts. The students will be able to work at their pace and at their own level.
