Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Dr. Seuss once said “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” Students at our school should be exposed to the world of reading! By providing audio books, our students will have a greater opportunity to experience great books!

My students are struggling readers!

They have difficulty identifying with literature. They are also from a low economic area, where most students qualify for a free lunch program. The students enjoy hearing a good book read aloud to them, why not provide the audio book for them to take home and read on their own? In addition, our school has many class sets of great books, but no audio component. Our school has minimal resources and budgets to buy audio and replacement books.

My Project

Audio books bring books to life! Students will benefit from audio books because they will hear a book read aloud to them. These resources will be very helpful to those students who are struggling to read. Students will definitely have a greater chance and experience in becoming lifelong readers if they have access to audio books!

The more students read, the more students know, the more they know, they will definitely grow!

I would like students in our school to know how wonderful reading is, and by allowing them access to audio books, students will access higher levels of vocabulary and literacy!
