Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help! My students want to learn to read. My students are like sponges. If they begin to love reading at an early age, they will read their entire lives.

My students are curious about everything.

They want to know it all. They especially want to learn to read. Some students spend all day at school because their parents work all day. They want to be read to at home but some of their parents are not able to read.

My Project

With a listening center, my students will be able to listen to their favorite stories throughout the day. They will also acquire sight word recognition that will motivate them to increase their reading fluency. My students will want to read and discover all that books have to offer and become lifelong learners. I am requesting a listening center table, a CD player, and books on CD.

My students will increase their love of reading.

They will learn and have fun at the same time. They will be able to listen to their favorite stories, and they will remember them their entire life.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
