My Students

I want to make math so fun and exciting that my students don't know they are actually learning!

There are 22 amazing students in my second grade class.

They are highly motivated to learn, and all learn in different ways. In my class I have 6 students that are on a 1st grade or below ability level, 6 on grade level, and the rest on a 3rd or 4th grade level.

My Project

By providing my students with different leveled math games I hope to be able to do more math centers in my classroom, giving me the ability to work with smaller groups on a daily basis. When they finish their assignment, students will be able to move to a center and play a game with their peers or a parent volunteer. I have found that if students think they are "playing" they don't realize they are actually learning. Right now when they finish their assignments, my students beg to play the 3 math games that I do have. Not only will they be learning, having fun, interacting with others, learning good sportsmanship, but they will also be reviewing math concepts all year long. Please donate the following: instant Math Learning Centers, Measurement Center, Place Value games, and "Who's High? Who's Low?" math games.

By giving to this project, you will be instilling a love of learning to the students in my class and on my second grade team.

Students won't be asking "What can I do now?" They will be able to get out a math game and play while learning!
