My Students

Cookie-cutter! That's right. When my students step into my classroom, I use the same technology everyday. The chalk board and my overheard projector. My special education students would benefit from the use of visual aids to capture their interests and support their academic progress.

Our school is located in Illinois.

I teach math, reading, and writing to students with disabilities. I see between seven to ten students on a daily basis. They struggle with everyday concepts such as decoding, comprehension, computation and application, and much more. Our current budget cuts have limited the use of technology within our classrooms. My students are visual learners that require consistent teacher modeling. With the use of a document camera and projector, there are numerous options to utilize technology to enhance and inspire my students to learn.

My Project

The document camera and LCD projector can be utilized in many different ways and subject areas. In reading, I will be able to share colored books with my students and model effective reading strategies that will set the ground work for life long learning. For math, we can play games and use videos by attaching a laptop or iPad to the LCD projector. These key items will open the door to so many new ideas and possibilities that will capture my students attention and engage them in the learning process.

The document camera and LCD projector will help support and entice my students to learn.

They will be given the opportunity to see learning in a different way. Right now, the overhead projector is limiting my students use of the 21st century technology. With your support you can change and motivate struggling learners to learn essential skills.
