My Students

The students in my Kindergarten class are now discovering their love of reading! What we need are some nice comfortable child size seating to use as we read. We have many books, and even a carpeted area, but would love to be able to sit comfortably.

I teach a very nice group of children.

Most do not have books at home or even someone to read to them. I am trying to create a comfortable, inviting environment in our classroom to entice these children to be good readers. Our school is a Title 1 school and many of our students are children living in poverty.

My Project

With a Comfy Reading Area in our class, I am sure that more children will want to take a book and try to read. As of now, they sit at their seats to read which does not provide a quiet, cozy area conducive to reading. With a specific area in the class set up just for quiet reading, I feel that the children will be more willing to pick a book and read independently.

I am hoping that every student of mine will leave Kindergarten with a love for reading.

I am confident that with some of these bean bag chairs and reading pillows, the children will want to go off with a good book more often!
