My students need a laptop for our social studies class. We need laptops so students can access various interactive websites that will help with student understanding.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many students these days are fortunate enough to have laptops or computers. My students, however, do not have this fortune. These students come from low economic homes. Students do not have laptops and/or computers at home and are very limited in their ability to access information on a computer

My students are mostly Hispanic and come from low income households.

They are dancers and therefore have a great interest in the arts, however, they also have a great passion for social studies. They would like the opportunity to explore more about the subject through various interactive websites.

My Project

My students would use the laptop to do further research during Social Studies class. They would use the laptop to go on various interactive websites, to see pictures of concepts and time periods that are being discussed in class. Also, students would use these laptops to write research papers and read other material that will further explain class lessons.

It is very important for these students to have a laptop.

Do to lack of income, these students are not getting the full resources that will help them succeed and do well in Social Studies. I want to give these students everything I possibly can in order to help them learn, and this laptop would be a great start.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
