Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second language students are introduced to new concepts daily. Visual representations and interaction help them grasp, engage, and remember what they are learning.

My students are second language learners and struggle to stay focused on all the new concepts they are learning.

Our school is in a low socio-economic area and most of my students do not have computers at home. My students need to be engaged in their learning. Sometimes, because they are second language learners, a visual representation helps them understand and stay engaged in the lesson.

My Project

Our school has old computers that do not allow us to use the technological components with our language arts and math series. The wireless mouse will allow the students to interact with the programs. The speakers will allow all my students to be able to hear the stories or directions. I want to prepare my students for the future and expose them different ways of learning. Having a variety of teaching options, that meet the many modalities of learning of my students, keeps them engaged. Technology allows them to view things in different ways and makes it enjoyable at the same time. Information, games, lessons, pictures, and stories are available at a click of a button. They will be able to see a visual representations of new words, new concepts, interact, and even create their own plays or lessons.

Please help my students get an equal opportunity to the technology that is available to us.

My students want to learn but sometimes lack the background or exposure to understand the concepts being taught in a lesson. Help make these new concepts available to them at a click of a button in a variety of visual and fun ways. My students will be more engaged and have more options available to their learning. Help me prepare my students for the future by exposing them to more opportunities. Thank you.
