This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how frustrated you get when you are looking for the right word and can't find it? My students feel that way everyday.

I teach in a very poor school system where it is difficult to give students electronics to communicate.

My classroom is a classroom of 7 students with autism and 4 of them are non-verbal. Some of them use the PECS to communicate but others prefer electronics.

My Project

My students need a voice and with this new iPod Touch, they can communicate with others. Electronics open a whole new world to learning. With this iPod, not only can my students learn how to communicate their needs and wants, but they can also learn how to survive in the real world. If we teach them in school how to use this to communicate, then they can transfer those skills into the real world to survive.
