My students need yarn so that they can crochet and knit hats for the local women's shelter.

My Students

My students have formed a yarn club that meets on Mondays and they have taught each other how to crochet and knit. They have big dreams of making homemade items to donate to the local women's shelter and we are seeking help in acquiring the yarn that we need.

My students are from an urban district in Ohio.

They have big hearts and work very hard. They are excited to help out others in need when a lot of them have a lot of needs that are going unmet. The MHS Yarn Club is new this year and we are looking for help getting the supplies that we need.

My Project

The yarn that the kids receive will be used to make hats and scarves for the local women's shelter. The kids came up with the idea of making gifts for the women and children there in hope that it might help keep them warm, know that someone cares about them, that someone is wishing the best for them. The students are able to feel good about themselves for helping out someone else from whom they expect nothing in return.

This project is so important because it simultaneously helps two groups!

You get to know that you have helped the high school students learn a new skill and learn about doing something nice for others, and you get to help needy women and children get winter hats and scarves that the kids lovingly made for them! The yarn will be loved and put to good use. Thank you for being kind and generous!
