My students need 4 quality mouthpieces to improve their playing ability and the sound of the band.

My Students

The band relies on the tubas for everything! Without a good foundation from the low sounds, the rest of the band suffers.

My students are good kids and they work hard to make the best out of their individual situations.

They are long on work ethic but are short on resources. My students practice diligently on the equipment that they are provided but many rely on the school to help with instruments and supplies that they can not afford on their own.

My Project

I am asking for 4 tuba mouthpieces that are good quality. Right now my high school tubaists are playing on mouthpieces that are made for beginning 6th grade musicians. They are also decades old(literally) and the smooth finish has been completely worn off, showing the brass metal underneath. Consequently, they also have a very distinct taste that isn't very pleasant either.

These new mouthpieces would give my tubaists the equipment they need to get the sound that can be expected of a good high school player.

Since the tubas are the lowest pitched instrument, the entire band listens to the tubas as the foundation of the sound. "Make the tubas sound better and the entire band will sound better". It just makes sense. Thanks for your consideration.
