My Students

My students are inner city children. Coming to our school is a safe haven for most of them. Here, they can get two meals, and have a roof over their heads and teachers that care about them.

When I started here three years ago, my students barely knew what a violin was.

They thought it was a guitar. Now they are challenging each other to see who can play the most difficult piece of classical music they have in their repertoire. Changing the culture to respect music and these instruments was a must.

My Project

I am asking for a couple of table computers. I want to branch off into using some music technology. My students are eager to learn more about music. I am eager to teach them that it is so much more than just notes on a page. This will help me reach those students who are ready to do so.

I see all the students in the school.

My class is a "specials" class. Because of this, I have a wide range of abilities in one class. Having these tablets will help me address the wide range of talent in each class. They will enhance the lessons that my advanced students are taking while helping solidify the fundamentals that my beginners are learning.
