Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever sat in a class where you had no idea what was going on, but the teacher just kept on going? Ever feel bored and disengaged in a class? Ever been unsure of how well you're really doing until the test (too late)? I have a solution for all of these common problems!

My students come from disadvantaged homes and neighborhoods, and low-performing schools, where access to technology is limited.

I have a tremendous diversity of students in my classroom: from gifted to intellectually disabled (formerly referred to as mentally retarded), English language proficient to English language learners, and students reading at grade level to students 6 or more grades behind.

My Project

With a student responder, each student will have the opportunity to show their comprehension at each step of the lesson. This would give me a tremendously powerful tool to immediately asses if the students are comprehending the content. This data would allow me to make immediate changes to my curriculum to address areas where students may be struggling. In addition, this "poll the audience" technology helps to engage students in the content, adding a level of individual interactivity that is difficult to achieve in a large classroom setting.

I believe that engaging students, using data to inform instruction, and giving each student the opportunity to monitor their own progress, are invaluable educational benefits.

This project will allow me to meet each of these needs, each day, for each student.
