My Students

Flying into outer space and exploring a new planet is something most children have imagined at one time or another. My students need some factual information to help them vividly imagine all the out of this world possibilities!

I have a very enthusiastic group of young learners who are highly motivated by topics that interest them.

Our school lacks the finances to purchase extra materials to allow students to really explore their interests. We have so much to learn this year and exploring the solar system will allow us to access all of that learning in a high interest, thematic unit.

My Project

The experiences of my students are very limited, especially when compared to their suburban counterparts. I feel that it is so important for me to expose them to all kinds of information and experiences. I also feel that inquiry based learning is essential to getting students to buy into school and the learning process. For those reasons, I am requesting various fiction and non-fiction books that explore the solar system and related topics.

By donating to this project, you will be giving students the opportunity to see and learn about things beyond their current circumstances.

You will be helping students to dream bigger, imagine more vividly.
