This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The world is constantly changing and our young people need to know about it. A subscription to Upfront magazine would provide the students access to numerous articles about current events facing America and the world.

My students attend a technical high school in an urban area.

Many of the students come from a low socio-economic background. Much of what they learn about the world comes from what they learn in the classroom. In past years the school provided a subscription to Upfront magazine. I used the materials in the magazine frequently to enhance lessons. Recent budget cuts have resulted in the canceling of this subscription and we no longer receive the magazine. I try to supplement this loss with articles from the Internet and magazines I read but to find materials appropriate for their reading level and in areas they are interested in it is important to have the Upfront magazines.

My Project

Upfront magazine is a valuable resource that will help students learn about the world. This is a valuable resource that students enjoy using and teachers can rely on to enhance the learning in their classrooms. Articles from Upfront are valuable as primary and secondary sources and even help prepare students to pass state exams.

I would love to bring my students all over the world to help them experience what is happening.

A subscription to Upfront magazine won't let me do that but it will help me bring what is happening into the classroom. I know you want to be a part of creating tomorrow's leaders.
