Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Don't know much about history! Our students are joining middle school with an absolute lack of background knowledge of history. They need opportunities to explore, research, and create projects about social studies!

When I think of the students at our school, I of this quote:"A good head and a good heart are a valuable combination." Students at this school are full of a desire to impress and leave their mark upon the world.

While many of these students grow up with harsh economic reality, they continue to daily fight and persevere.

My Project

Throughout the course of the year in social studies class, students have the opportunity to write songs, poems, create video projects, get online for research, design review games, and blog about social studies along with various other opportunities for learning classroom material. Having laptops within the classroom will allow students to access the Internet for projects as well as produce or edit many different types of games, PowerPoint's, videos, blogs, or websites.

Nelson Mandela once said that "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." How important is it to educate our students in appropriate uses of technology?
