Making It Real with Non-Fiction Books and Get the Meanings

My students need non-fiction stories in order to learn to read non-fiction text since most of the ELA is on non-fiction text.

My Students

I need a set of non-fiction books for guided reading. I am working with a group of 5th graders. After analyzing their ELA results I find that they are struggling with non-fiction stories. I would like to expose them to more non-fiction text to give them a better chance on their test.

We are in an area where more than 90% of the students eat free lunch.

Our students are eager learners and love to read. I think they should get every opportunity to do well and compete with other schools. Non-fiction text is one of their weak areas, and having more of these types of books will help greatly!

My Project

Many of us get opportunities to go and visit places. My students can do this by reading good non-fiction books. They can go places and learn about things with great literature books. By supporting my students you will give them an opportunity to appreciate real life!

This project will open windows to new ideas.

Students will read non-fiction text which will help them on their test, writing skills, and real life situations. Non-fiction books will enhance their vocabulary and comprehension skills.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
