Digital Cameras: Endless Possibilities

My students need 2 digital cameras to create animations, take pictures of their artwork, create podcasts and make several other projects in our increasingly digital world.

My Students

Our students are actively engaged in the digital world of today, but they need digital cameras in order to fully take advantage of and understand their visual world. It is increasingly essential for students to cross the digital divide and become participants in our digital society.

My students are amazing individuals with the potential to create meaningful and purpose-driven work.

We are a small, rural school with a high poverty rate, but the students' drive to learn and create outweighs any obstacles they may face. My students are ready to take their artwork to new levels through the use of digital cameras.

My Project

My students are constantly engaging in visual culture and will use these digital cameras to become active participants in viewing, creating and analyzing the visual images that surround them everyday. The world of art will be opened up to my students in completely new ways if we are able to use digital cameras in the classroom. Students will learn how to take, edit and utilize photos and short videos to create meaningful artwork that relates to their lives and their community.

The digital cameras will help with innumerable projects for hundreds of students.

We will be able to use these cameras for everything from taking pictures of student artwork to creating animations. These cameras will help us for years to come.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
