My Students

Comprehension, comprehension, comprehension! My students need additional exposure to non-fiction reading materials. The addition of Weekly Reader and the non-fiction book/cd set should be perfect for our literature centers.

My students are 8 to 9 year old 3rd grade students.

They are located in Ohio and attend an inner city charter school. The students qualify for and are provided free breakfast and lunch. This is a K-8 school with approximately 400 total students. There are 31 students in my class.

My Project

I plan to use the Weekly Reader in the literacy centers which are used daily. The students love centers and I believe they will benefit from exposure to non-fiction selections. I try to incorporate a theme each week that includes fiction and non-fiction.

They are appreciative of all materials I gather for the classroom but educational magazines are too expensive to supply.
