My Students

Currently, our school district is around 52% poverty. As an unwritten goal for our students, we as a school district strive to not allow being poor become an excuse to not succeed. I strive to make a positive impact of each student within my classroom, grade level and school.

My students are a wonderful and energetic group of kindergarteners.

They learn best through hands-on experiences. In a school district with over 52% poverty, school provides experiences they may never get elsewhere. I want all the kids in my classroom to have the opportunity to play around with technology, such as the digital camcorder I am asking for.

My Project

The two digital camcorder cost roughly $174.00 each. Each camera will be used by the students and me to document weekly highlights on our classroom blog as well as creating an iMovie of our class field trip to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. The Soft Pouch cases costs roughly $12.00 for two cases. The cases will help protect each camcorders from scratches and dust as well as basic protection during storage.

A huge goal of mine is to introduce my students to as many things as possible, including technology.

When students are using technology as a tool they are taking an active role in their learning. This couldn't support our need for a digital camcorder more. A digital camcorder would be a tool that would be utilized as a way of recording students reading, gathering experiences from field trips, or simply sharing our kindergarten classroom on our classroom blog through the eyes of a five-year-old.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
