My Students

Remember when you were in kindergarten and your classroom had a "high-tech" record player and film strip projector? Today's 21st century kindergarten children are already technology-smart and need to have advanced technology at their fingertips in the classroom!

My students attend a full-day kindergarten class in a small Pennsylvania town and by nature, they are inquisitive and curious.

They love to learn and are fascinated with technology. My kinder kids are respectful, polite, and creative. I am extremely proud of them and would love to surprise them with new classroom technology. The children in my classroom enjoy listening to stories, writing in their journals, doing science experiments, creating art projects, and discovering!

My Project

Within my classroom, there are several stations where children work with a partner during small group instruction time. Examples of the types of stations in our classroom include listening, science, art, classroom library, word work, math, puzzles, and computers. By having iPods and fulfilling this project request, we could also add a technology station for the children. Apps related to alphabet recognition, word games, math, logic, and reading would be available on the iPods and would help integrate more technology into our curriculum. Children could also use the included microphone feature to record themselves reading stories or singing songs. The iPods would allow us the invaluable opportunity to expose children to more current technology, while reinforcing the kindergarten skills we teach on a daily basis.

This project is vital because technology is vital.

In order for children to be prepared for the ever-changing technology in our world, they need to be exposed to it at an early age. Kindergarten children are capable of learning SO much and in so many different modes. This project will meet the needs of all learners and provide our students with an interactive way to learn kindergarten skills, while integrating technology into our classroom! Please donate! We are good apples in need of iPods.
